Amy Christopherson

Amy Grace (Miller) Christopherson, 84, of Hot Springs Village, AR, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Feb. 16, 2013. The daughter of Walter Miller and Susan (McFeeters) Miller, Amy was born in Reedsburg, WI, on Oct. 30, 1928. On Sept. 15, 1946, Amy married the love of her life, Jacob C. (Jake) Christopherson. Together they reared five children, of whom she was immensely proud. Amy was involved in many organizations, including Rainbow Girls, Int'l., VFW Auxiliary, Reedsburg United Methodist Church, and Toastmasters Int'l. She served as a Cub Scout Den Leader for many years. Additionally, she was privileged to be an 8-gallon+ blood donor. In 1983, Amy and Jake began making annual short-term visits to Hot Springs Village, AR. That same year, they established a Toastmasters Youth Leadership Program at Jessieville School, which continued until 2008. During those 26 years, they impacted the lives of 1,292 students, and were recognized by the school as Volunteers of the Year in 2000. Amy and Jake permanently moved to Hot Springs Village in 1987; and it quickly became home to both of them. Amy golfed, joined a dance club and an investment club, and traveled extensively (including visits to England and Spain). She helped establish a Toastmasters Int'l club in Hot Springs and was its first president. She was involved in many activities at Christ of the Hills United Methodist Church including singing in the choir, Dinner for 8, Co-captain for 5 Caring Zones, and Esther Circle. Amy's hobbies included sewing, quilting, needlework, singing, and reading. She was a wonderful cook and baker, and leaves behind a wealth of treasured recipes. She was a great friend to many. Amy is survived by her husband of 66 years, Jake; their five children, Richard (Debra), Linda, Donna (Patrick) Crawford, Todd (Cindy), and Sandra; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; her sister, Mary (Richard) Marsich; sisters-in-law, Marian and Helen; and many nieces and nephews. Amy was preceded in death by her parents and her only brother, Raymond.
